Jamcho is the 4th highest peak in the Kathmandu Valley. It’s easy to get to, just a couple of kilometres from the ring road at Balaju Bypass to the park gate where the trail enters the trees.
The main 19 km goes from Phulbari Gate to the top of Jamacho (2072m) which is a 700m climb over 4.5km – a great start to your weekend. Then the next couple of kilometers are hard work on very bad road. But then it is wonderful, peaceful jungle trail gently descending all the way down to Mudkhu through old un-messed up forest.

How to get there
DirectionsGPS Location: 27.74505, 85.29421 >
Very easy. Get close to Gongabu bus park, and get out at Balaju Bypass. If you can find transport to Kakani, Nuwakot, Trisuli, then good, otherwise a 20 minute walk up the hill to the start locations.
