If you are in a hurry, you can straightway check your results here — > MY SANKHU REPORT SHEET
Sankhu was adventurous. Not just the race, but the road reaching Sankhu was the first challenge to face. If the participants survived the ride, they were up for what could be named one of the toughest trail races of the series kissed hard by the 3 days rain before the race.

The race started from Bal Kshetra complex, with the staffs of Hamro Gaun Project. The folks were up since 3 am to cook the delicious corn, Iskoosh ( chayote squash) from their organic farm, along with our signature Qwati dish. The Race started with auspicious Sankhu Newari drum beats.
We’d like to thank Bimala Ji treasurer of Bal Kshetra complex and Jimi Oostrum for his support and help to conduct the race in Sankhu.

We missed the regular podium winners this time. However, it was an opportunity for the fresh competitors to grab the medals and the ranks.
All the female overall category was won by non-nepali participants. Kate Hirschboeck was running her Nepal visit’s last race and she justified her stay well by winning the overall female winner title.
Jocelyne just 3 mins behind Kate has been consistently on podium for every race she has participated in. Sonya Martin, an avid trail runner is back in the races and showed herself straight in the podium after long break.

For Men’s category, while we did miss Budhamagar family in race, however, there seemed a cut throat competition between guys at top 5 position, winning from each other by matter of seconds.
Bikash Tamang, Tek Bahadur and Sher Bahadur won the race at insane timing of 1 hr 12 mins and just differing by 5 secs, and 10 secs respectively.

It will be worth mentioning Mahesh Thapa and Simon Castro Wooldridge who made their way to overall 4th and 5th position with 1 hour 17 mins and few seconds difference.

This race was not a trail race with just uphill and downhill. The terrain had been made difficult due to continuous rain before the race. There were sharp turns and rice fields one had to be cautious on. Just awesome pace wasn’t enough for winning or even finishing the route.
