1 How do I register? What is the last day to register?
Participants in Kathmandu Valley have to visit one of the race registration spots with required documents and payment in full.
Registration will be open approximately twenty days prior to the race day. First three days will be early bird discount and last three days including race day registration will attract late penalty charges. Please see Prices and Deadlines for full details.^Top
2 I registered but cannot come to the race. How do I cancel? Do I get a refund?
Please call us at 9808032588 (or email us at email@example.com) if you wish to defer your participation in the race you have signed up for.
The payment is non-transferable and non-refundable. However, you may defer your participation for the immediate next edition of the series for 25% additional charge. The payment will be non-refundable if you cannot make it to the next race and it is non-transferable to further races.^Top
3 I live outside Kathmandu and cannot register in the assigned locations? What options do I have?
You can call us at 9808032588 (or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org) with this issue. For genuine cases (participants outside the valley), we can make an alternative provision for registration.^Top
4 I've never run a race before. What do I bring? And how do I prepare?
Don’t worry, when you need to know, we will let you know. Some things you can be certain you’ll want/need is a good ruck, something you can be comfortable carrying on your persons for at least 4 hours given that is how long you will take to finish the race. You’ll need a solid source of hydration and you’re expected to remain self-supported, there may be opportunities to refill at on course water stations, but do not rely on this to be the case. In addition to hydration you’ll also need to keep yourself fueled for the entirety of the event. Bring your liability waiver form (receipt) when you show up.^Top
5 Can I bring my own food? Will there be time to have a break to eat?
You will be required to fuel yourself, trail events are partly self-supported, meaning you feed and hydrate yourself with no outside assistance. Bring enough food to endure the event. We provide recovery food at the finish. However, you should let the organizers know if you are allergic to any food.^Top
6 I’ll have bags on me at the starting line. Is there any arrangement to store these bags until I finish the race?
Yes. For this race, we have provision to keep your bags. However, we do not take responsibility for loss or theft. A good idea on running races is to pack light and bring only those things you need while running.^Top
7 What happens if I cannot finish and need to withdraw from the race?
Please inform an race organizer or a volunteer know immediately. They will note down your bib number and you may head home. Our team will be at the finish point until all the runners have been tallied and accounted for.^Top
8 If I don't finish, do I get any race points or a certificate?
Points are not given if you miss the cut-off time. You will however, get a certificate without finishing time stated. A Did Not Finish (DNF) will be given on your ranking.^Top
9 Will there be photos of the race?
Yes, we have designated photographers and videographers covering the race. All photos will be uploaded to Trail Running Nepal’s page.^Top
10 We are running as a team/group. How do we register?
Though you can sign up as a team, timing will be taken individually for ranking and prizes. Individual members may go to one of the registration spots to register, or you may contact us to register as a group. Our team member will come to you with the registration form and for liability form/payment. Members will have to sign individual waiver forms.^Top
11 What happens it if rains or a bad weather day?
Rain or shine, the race is on. Be more cautious on wet trails, and do be prepared with proper rain gear. Bring a zip lock or a plastic bag to keep all your belongings safe and dry.^Top
12 Is there any real threat of coming into contact with wildlife?
Some parts of the trails go along Nagarjun forest, so while there certainly are animals lurking in the jungles, there is very less likelihood that they will come out in broad daylight, especially when hundreds of people are running on the trail! That said, do stay alert and be prepared.^Top
13 Can I participate if I have medical conditions?
Please consult with your doctor before signing up for the race. Do let the organizers know of your medical condition and requirements beforehand. Do not push yourself and participate only if you are physically and mentally ready.^Top
